Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificate

A Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificate creates an encrypted connection between your web server and your visitors' web browser allowing for private information to be transmitted without the problems of eavesdropping, data tampering, and message forgery.

  • Available to: Faculty and Staff (Technical Support Personnel)
  • Where to use: Texas State servers and applications
  • Cost: Free; however, if another type of certificate is required (e.g., Extended Validation), an additional cost may be required.
